Leave No Trace: Even biodegradable soaps and cleansers shouldn't be used in a natural water source. To wash yourself, your laundry or your dishes, carry water 200 feet away from streams or lakes and use small amounts of biodegradable soap (a little goes a long way). Then pour wastewater into a cat hole 6 to 8 inches deep.
We use old utensils, eco-friendly tin containers for plates and wash clothes for "napkins". Coolers of water allow for a quick wash and rinse of not only dishes but your hands, rags and gaiters.
Olio's match stick style tin of soaps is ideal for one single use. One match stick is a lovely outdoor shower! Match sticks can be broke in half for just a single use hand washing.
