Make Your Own Strawberry Matcha Soap Workshop Saturday, July 18, 2026, 11am
Make a soap that is fun and full of nutritious ingredients! This bar will leave your skin soft and moisturized with its rich later. We will be using fresh strawberries and organic matcha. This class comes with a small strawberry matcha beverage from The Neighborhood Hive coffee bar, for you to enjoy while making the soap.

Details: This workshop will last approximately 1.5 hours.
Safety: Please wear (or bring) long sleeves and closed toe shoes to work in.
Minimum age requirement is 15 years old.

📝 Workshop Agenda
1. Welcome & Safety Briefing (15 mins)

Hand out gloves, goggles

Go over lye safety and workspace rules
2. Intro to Soap Making & Saponification (20 mins)

Brief talk on:

What is saponification? (fat + lye → soap + glycerin)

Basic chemistry behind it
-
Types of oils and their properties
-
Lye handling and measuring
-
3. Demonstration (20 mins)

Facilitator performs the first batch

Show each step from oil blending to trace and pouring
4. Hands-On Soap Making (40 mins)
Participants:

Choose a scent (e.g. strawberry, unscented)

Mix oils, add lye solution (pre-measured for safety)

Blend to trace
-
Add final boost ingredients
-
Pour into mold
5. Labeling & Wrap-Up (15 mins)

Label their soap with ingredients

Discuss curing time (4–6 weeks)

Take-home info sheets: curing tips, pictures of board
This class will include all materials and ingredients to make 1.5lbs of CP (cold process) soap (4 normal size bars) using Olio's Soap Recipe. If you would like to make more than 1.5lbs of soap, email Jennifer@OlioSkin.com
You will be leaving class with the soap you created to cure for 30 days and then use or share.
